Large Farm Real Estate Transaction Complete

We were recently retained to assist a local farmer with the purchase of another farm. As one can imagine, issues do “crop up” in farm real estate sales. Pun intended. Seriously though, farm deals usually do involve large sums of money, some complexity, and a few unseen risks.

After the initial review of this transaction, it became clear that the land was not owned in the manner first thought. That had to be fixed. In addition, the acreage and legal description was not correct. That had to be fixed.

After a great deal of work with a local title company and surveyor (along with careful and well thought out negotiations and tax planning by the parties) the purchase has been accomplished. Everyone was very pleased with the outcome at closing.
